A Prime Example Why Police Can Not Be Trusted To Make Parade Rules
Police too frequently feel they get to define and interpret law, and additionally the rules do not apply to them, and today we get an excellent example of this culture straight from the horse's mouth.
An officer at NYPD Rant, a unofficial NYPD forum website, has proudly posted that he turned down Transportation Alternative's request for parking and bathroom facility use as revenge for Trans Alts program of documenting illegal police car parking in the city:
It's unclear if this was a request to use a public facility or if this officer is also moonlighting somewhere. In any case, at the NYPD it's not about enforcing the laws, it's about making them up.
Update: I called up Trans Alt, and they think this officer has confused another group with Trans Alt, and so is punishing someone else. They dont think they have requested any facility use, but they are working on confirming that. So this makes the situation even uglier, some other organization is receiving the anger this officer wanted to direct at Trans Alt. Nice.

the group that started the whole anti-cop-parking plague... well at the facility I work they recently asked for free parking and free use of our bathrooms during a big event of theres, it was my decision to make... and I took great pleasure in coming up with a totally fake excuse as to why we would not be able to help them out all (no free parking) but I have them a phone number for a rent-a-john company lol. I can't give exact details, but PM for better info. Happy to get back at them some what.
