A New Website Remembers Fallen Cyclists
http://Ghostbikes.org is intended to be a site for the worldwide cycling community. The site was put together to create a global community around those lost on the streets. It's creators hope to inspire more people to start installing ghost bikes in their communities and to initiate changes that will make us all safer on the streets.

The site is in an open source format that will allow groups and individuals in each city to maintain information on their memorials and events. Volunteers are contacting advocacy groups in other cities to encourage them to participate and add information about their ghost bike projects.
The website was launched by New York's Street Memorial Project to connect similar efforts around the world. By the end of 2007, 41 ghost bikes will have been installed in New York City. New York's Street Memorial Project says there have been 23 deaths this year according to media reports.
