Students Organize to Fight NYPD Mass Arrest - Rally Monday
The group of students who were mass arrested on their way to a wake have formed a new group and will rally to raise awareness of their case. Student Coalition Against Racial Profiling (SCARP) will be rallying outside the 83rd Precinct on Monday, July 9th at 4pm. This group of youth began organizing after 32 of their peers were wrongfully arrested on their way to a friend's wake. Recall the police swept them up in a mass arrest using the new limits on peaceful assembly promulgated by the NYPD and approved by City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
